The Cardano Foundation announced a Cardano-based NFT auction with Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top.
The auction took place on September 25 and 26, coinciding with the Cardano Summit. The Auction is for NFTs of digital music in a 30-second original jam session by Billy Gibbons and a Golden Ticket for a 20-minute 1:1 with Billy Gibbons.
The only verified copies of this jam session, which combines soulful guitar and hand drumming with distinct beats, were available to fans of Billy, also known as “Reverend.” Once the auction is completed, the Golden Ticket, a virtual opportunity to speak with the iconic bluesman one-on-one about music, art, and technology, will be set.
Terra Virtua, the world’s first fully immersive social and digital collectibles platform, provided the chance to buy these NFTs by the great bluesman. However, they have not disclosed the amount for which the NFTs were sold.
To participate, users first registered on Terra Virtua and then submitted a FIAT bid. The winner of the auction checked out using FIAT or ADA through the COTI AdaPay system.
Billy has been on the cutting edge of combining art and technology for decades. When a wave of digital recording technologies became the industry norm in the 1980s, the ZZ Top sound was redefined.

Terra Virtua is an entertainment-focused collectibles platform launched in 2017. It leverages the latest in mobile and gaming technologies.
