Bundesliga Partners with Sorare's NFT Platform

In Brief:

  • Digital images of its players will be turned into tradable football cards that can be used to build a fantasy team
  • The Bundesliga is the second major soccer league to partner with Sorare, following Spain’s La Liga
  • Next year, Sorare will also publish NFT-based videos from the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, known as ‘Moments’.

Bundesliga 2 and the Bundesliga both announced plans to offer non-fungible tokens (NFT) on the Sorare platform.

According to the Bundesliga, digital images of its players will be turned into tradable football cards that can be used to build a fantasy team through the SoRare platform – each card will be unique and ownership will be verified through the blockchain.

Thanks to its partnership with Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of the German Football League (DFL). Sorare’s users will be able to play and trade with NFTs from Germany’s top two soccer divisions, starting this month.

As part of the partnership, the NFT “moments” will be incorporated into the game for the first time. Collectible video clips from Bundesliga matches will also appear on the platform in 2022.

Bundesliga International CEO Robert Klein said that he was very pleased to partner with such an innovative and exciting company.

Sorare said it was thrilled to welcome Bundesliga fans throughout the world and bring them the special connection that Sorare has unlocked with NFTs and Global Fantasy Football.

Sorare is also a partner of the famous Spanish football league event La Liga. It plans to partner with every one of the world’s top 20 football leagues by the end of 2022.

More than 600,000 users are registered with Sorare from more than 170 countries, with 40,000 members from Germany. Since 2020, the number of Sorare users who are active monthly has increased by 34. There are more than 200 clubs available in Sorare.
