Electronic retail platform, Newegg announced its initiative to accept SHIB as a payment method. SHIB is the 12th largest cryptocurrency as per the market cap.
Newegg is the prominent tech-focused online retailer involved in PC hardware and gaming components. The company is situated in North America and provides services across the globe including Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the Middle East.
Newegg did not disclose details about the initiative. The company already takes payments in different cryptocurrencies through Bitpay. The cryptocurrency payment service is planning to add SHIB as a payment option. Currently, Bitpay allows users to pay from the list of the different cryptocurrencies, which includes Dogecoin also.
In April, Newegg had already started accepting another meme coin, Dogecoin, as a payment.
Currently, many firms and collaborations are taking a place to accept SHIB as a payment. Crypto exchange Gemini also declared support for the SHIB.
The CEO of AMC Theaters, Adam Aron also tweeted that it had also announced to add support for SHIB in 60-120 days. AMC will add support of SHIB for online payments of movie tickets and concessions.
