Crypto.com announced on Tuesday that it had teamed with the Los Angeles soccer team “Angel City Football Club” to raise knowledge of and access to cryptocurrency, blockchain, and Web 3.0 among Angelenos, soccer fans, and sportsmen.

The cooperation aims to encourage “financial education, independence, and financial empowerment” for women, according to the exchange, which plans to continue looking for “unique and impactful ways” to invest in L.A.

Julie Uhrman, ACFC Co-Founder and President stated, “given the speed with which Web3 and cryptocurrency is changing our world, we want to ensure that women are being brought along on the journey as investors and creators.”

She further said that, “we are excited to work with them to educate our community and players on crypto and allow our players to use the power of NFTs to connect with and create a deeper relationship with their fans.”

The collaboration marks the crypto exchange’s latest entry into the Los Angeles industry. In November, Crypto.com revealed that it has signed a $700 million deal to name the city’s multi-purpose Staples Center for the next 20 years.

The NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers, as well as the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings and the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks, have all played at the venue, which is set to change names on Saturday.

Crypto.com has partnered with high-profile personalities and companies to promote cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology as it evolves.

The firm announced a $175 million sponsorship deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship in July. Beginning in October, actor Matt Damon starred in commercials all over the world.
