Mercedes announced a partnership with Art2People to develop a Mercedes-Benz NFT collection based on the G-Class vehicle line.
A total of five NFT artists are assigned the task of creating unique artworks inspired by the Mercedes G-Class line.
Mercedes picked artists from a variety of fields, including fashion, architecture, music, real estate, and graphic design.
The car manufacturer chose NFT artists Anthony Authie, German-based Antoni Tudisco, Roger Kilimanjaro, Baugasm, and Charlotte Taylor for this new project.
Mercedes in collaboration with Nifty Gateway will release the G-Class based NFTs on January 23.
It’s not the first time the automaker is diving into the crypto industry. Mercedes previously collaborated with blockchain startup Circulor to launch a test to track cobalt emissions throughout the supply chain.
The way these car manufacturing companies are moving and indulging with the NFT sector we can expect a lot more exciting projects coming from each of them in near future. Just in December 2021, automaker Ferrari teamed up with blockchain firm Velas. The multi-year deal aims for the creation of exclusive digital content like NFTs marketed towards Ferrari’s Formula 1 racing team fans.
