Popular metaverse platform The Sandbox partners with the Museum of Contemporary Digital Art (MoCDA) to host two art exhibitions in the metaverse.
MoCDA is a museum that exhibits digital artworks for the purpose of documenting, collecting and advancing the position of digital art.
According to the announcement, the two exhibits are ‘Revisiting the Future: What will come as dreamed by digital artists’ curated by Filippo Lorenzin, and ‘Impossible Worlds’ curated by Tom Van Avermaet.
Lorenzin’s exhibition looks at how artists of our generation can shape future developments in society, technology, and art in the same way that our ancestors’ work shaped modern society.
‘Impossible Worlds’ is a curated show that includes work by Lumps, Jenni Pasanen, Giant Swan, Nicebleed, and others. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind digital representation of a dreamland in which characters, colors, and context are not constrained by human logic.
From June 10th till June 24th, Lorenzin’s work will be on display, while the Impossible Worlds will be on display from June 24th to July 8th.
Users who visit the curated exhibition event can screenshot their favorite artwork and submit it to the website and get a chance to win 200 mSAND.
A total of 10,000 $SAND is obtainable, which means 50 winners from the submissions will be chosen.
