Free-to-Mint Saudi Arabia-Themed NFT collection hits ‘Home-Run’

A project called ‘The Saudis’ is the newest sensation as the expensive free-to-mint NFTs derived from the cyberpunks collectibles have topped the volume charts in its debut weekend with $7.7M in sales.

The batch of 5,555 NFTs sold out within hours after the launch on July 9. The project’s floor price was the cheapest edition for sale on the open market with 0.75 ether (roughly $867) which peaked at 1.3 ETH (roughly $1,650) on Saturday.

Having record breaking sales of 6,700 ETH (roughly $7.7 million) in sales, the project’s momentum was elevated by the fans “Kingdom” on twitter that fueled the hysteria.

The new release brought in a fresh controversy, as a ‘Bot’ created especially for lowering the floor price, was eventually banned by the team.

Drama!! Drama!! Drama!! As some famous NFT influencers who had benefited from early knowledge of the mint were named and shamed on Twitter.

After the weekend’s high, the projected sales and the Twitter hysteria have simmered down which is a welcome sign for NFT land given the recent market conditions.

‘The Saudis’ is the first popular project launch since the crashing of ETH prices by 50% as of early June.

The pseudonymous had created a free-to-mint performance art-driven project, which was an instant hit amongst the crypto community.

Goblintown, one of the most noteworthy free-to-mint, is also created by the pseudonymous team. The art-driven NFT project has tasted massive success as they did over $7 million in sales volume in its first weekend. The project continued its hype by partnering with influencers, twitter spaces filled with goblin noises and by taking over NFT.NYC with a slew of ghoul-themed parties.
