The blockchain technology company Algorand announces appointing COO W.Sean Ford as an Interim CEO. Effective July 27, 2022, W. Sean Ford replaces ex-CEO G. Steven Kokinos, who leaves Algorand to “pursue other interests”.
“I am honored to step in and partner with Silvio during this transition,” says Mr. Ford.
Mr. Ford, in his capacity as the COO, was designated to oversee the execution of the go-to-market and operations. His responsibilities included product management, engineering, marketing, and global community development.
Steven Kokinos would still remain associated with Algorand until mid-2023 as a senior advisor.
“It has been a pleasure serving as CEO of Algorand. As we move into this next phase, I am excited about the company’s future and am confident that the team will keep things running smoothly,” says Mr. Kokinos.
The Turing award-winning MIT professor Silvio Micali is the founder of Algorand, a decentralized, secure, and scalable blockchain network.
