U.S Department of Justice sentenced a maximum of 10 years in Federal Prison to a Pelahatchie resident in Mississippi named Jessica Sledge to hire a “hitman” and give him $10,000 worth of Bitcoin to kill her husband.
In the latest announcement, United States District Judge Carlton W. Reeves sentenced a statutory maximum of 120 months in prison for using interstate commerce facilities in the commission of a murder-for-hire.
As per the incident, American law enforcement agents were aware of the intention of Jessica Sledge. She had hired a hitman from the Dark Web and after a month, she sent him $10,000 worth of Bitcoins to slaughter her husband.
To collect more evidence and confirmation that she is really planning a murder, one undercover agent contacted her and introduced himself as a hitman, whom she hired.
After taking her into trust through a series of recorded conversations, the agent confirmed her purpose behind bitcoin transactions.

Adding to more evidence, Jessica Sledge met the agent in November 2021 and gave him additional payment.
With sufficient evidence to arrest her which proved that she was plotting murder. The sentence included a fine of $1,000 and a term of three years of supervised release following her release from prison.
