Luxury watchmaker Rolex has filed a trademark application claiming plans for NFTs, NFT-backed media, NFT marketplace, crypto keys, and crypto transactions.
The application also mentioned virtual goods auctions including watches, art objects, digital collectibles, and more, as per the tweet shared by USPTO licensed trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis.
The trademark further claims for virtual and cryptocurrency exchange+transfer, along with marketing via product placements in online games or metaverse.
That’s just the beginning as more and more luxury brands and businesses have already dipped their toes in decentralized culture, filing trademark applications for crypto, NFTs, and metaverse.
