Polygon to launch zkEVM Mainnet Beta in March

After a successful testnet rollout last year, Polygon announced the launch of Polygon zkEVM Mainnet Beta on March 27. It will boost the scaling solution on the Ethereum network for upcoming projects in the blockchain ecosystem.

The launch of zkEVM will allow faster, cheaper, and more secure transactions on the Ethereum network.

To make Polygon zkEVM battle-tested, the network went through an exhaustive process of auditing and actual testnet usage. Polygon zkEVM has been passed through a gauntlet of tests and audits to fortify the network and future projects.

According to the blog post, the Polygon zkEVM contains the EVM-equivalence standards. It refers to zkEVM which is as powerful as Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) to expand the Ethereum ecosystem. This means developers can use the same code as Ethereum to build a project on Polygon zkEVM without any change.

Furthermore, Polygon zkEVM offers cheap and fast operation while maintaining EVM-equivalence performance. Also, it gives an impressive throughput as it can deliver Proof times for a batch of hundreds of transactions in around two minutes.

“Security is the highest priority, which is why Polygon zkEVM has been run through a gauntlet of tests and audits,” the company released a statement. “Users and devs can expect full transparency about the security measures that will protect the Ethereum community during Mainnet Beta.”

In the upcoming weeks, Polygon Labs, a firm behind the Polygon network, will disclose more information about Mainnet Beta.
