The song “Lost” was released on February 10, 2023, as part of a 20th-anniversary celebration of Linkin Park’s 2003 album “Meteora.” Lost features the lead vocals of the late band member Chester Bennington.

“It was all a dream. Thank you so so much to @mikeshinoda @linkinpark for giving me the opportunity to direct LOST with @maciejkuciara. And thank you to our incredible team for working so hard with us on this,” pplpleasr tweeted.

The “Lost” music video features Mirai, the main character of Shibuya’s NFT-based anime web series, “White Rabbit.” Shibuya is noted as the production company for the video, and AI startup Kaiber is a support studio.

“LOST is a tribute to memories of Linkin Park MVs, early days YouTube AMVs, retro anime, and METEORA. It’s a trip through time and nostalgia juxtaposed with new technology and art styles. Every frame’s a painting, we hope this came out like a weird dream you just woke up from,” pplpleasr added.

Linkin Park’s frontman Mike Shinoda is a web3 aficionado having released NFT projects before. Last September, Mike Shinoda surprised Moonbirds NFT holders by making them eligible to earn a slot for his NFT.

Mike Shinoda explained that finding ‘Lost’ was “like finding a favorite photo you had forgotten you’d taken, like it was waiting for the right moment to reveal itself…For years, fans have been asking us to release something with [late frontman Chester Bennington’s] voice, and I’m thrilled we’ve been able to make that happen in such a special way.”
