Coinbase has announced the listing of Euro Coin, a euro-backed stablecoin (EUROC). The coin will be listed as an ERC-20 token on the Ethereum network and will debut under the exchange’s “experimental asset” label.
The label is given to new tokens that are added to the exchange, as well as tokens with a low trading volume. Coinbase also warned its users not to send EUROC to other networks because doing so could result in a loss of funds.
Coinbase also revealed that the token will be available for trading in supported regions on February 22nd at 9 a.m. PT. According to the exchange, trading on EUROC-USD and EUROC-EUR will begin in stages after a sufficient supply of the stablecoin is created.
