Considered the Iron Man a.k.a Tony Stark in reality, Elon Musk is set to develop an AI with a large language model, TruthGPT. The AI will be trained to explore and answer the mysteries of the universe. Musk says that “I’m going to start something which I call TruthGPT, or a maximum truth-seeking AI that tries to understand the nature of the universe.”
According to Musk, this truth-seeking AI will also combat what he regards as “left-wing” bias in the sector. According to Musk, ChatGPT “is programmed by left-wing experts, who train the chatbots to lie.”
According to Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson, “the deeper problem is not simply that it will become autonomous and turn us all into slaves, but that it will control our understanding of reality and do so in a really dishonest way,” adding that “it could be programmed to lie to us for political effect.”
Musk purchased 10,000 GPUs after signing a petition calling for a pause on related research and he addressed concerns over the LLM market.
He said that “this might be the best path to safety in the sense that an AI that cares about understanding the universe is unlikely to annihilate humans because we are an interesting part of the universe.”
This AI also illustrated its capacity when asked to invest $100 on certain tokens. It suggested $50 to Bitcoin, $25 to Ether, $15 to Cosmos’ ATOM and $10 to NFTs and Web3 projects.
A few days ago, Musk even visited former Barack Obama and urged him to enact AI regulations. Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015, however he stepped out from the board of directors in 2018. In 2019, he announced his departure from OpenAI to work on Tesla and SpaceX.
