Ripple Appoints Nielsen's CFO to Board Amid Legal Battle

Cryptocurrency firm Ripple has announced the appointment of Warren Jenson, the chief financial officer of market researcher Nielsen, to its board of directors.

In addition, Jenson will serve as Ripple’s chair of the audit committee, responsible for overseeing the auditing process of the company’s operations, as per the reports.

Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, expressed his confidence in Jenson, stating that his extensive background will be invaluable as Ripple continues to be a responsible global leader in the crypto space.

Thrilled to welcome Warren Jenson to @Ripple’s Board and as the new Chair of our Audit Committee.

Transparency and trust are the 2 hallmarks that drive crypto forward, and Warren’s decades of expertise here will be an incredible resource as we continue to grow globally. https://t.co/6wNTHxuTAL

Warren Jenson, who is also a board member of software company DigitalOcean and technology firm Jobcase, emphasized the importance of transparency in the cryptocurrency industry.

He believes that companies in this sector must prioritize transparency for cryptocurrencies to fulfill their potential for revolutionizing traditional financial infrastructure.

Jenson expressed his excitement to bring his experience to Ripple and share the company’s commitment to upholding the highest standards.

Jenson will be joining an esteemed board that already includes former US Treasurer Rosie Rios, former JPMorgan Chase Chief Regulatory Affairs Officer Sandie O’Connor, and Michael Warren, Managing Director of Albright Stonebridge Group.

Along with that, Ripple’s ongoing legal battle with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) continues as the company faces accusations of raising $1.3 billion through the sale of XRP.

The dispute, which started in 2020, is still awaiting a decision this year. Recently, a judge ruled against the SEC’s request to seal certain documents related to a 2018 speech by the agency’s former director, Bill Hinman.
