The security team has stated that they are working together with Mixin to investigate the incident and determine how serious it is.

In an official statement released later, Mixin admitted that the attack happened on September 23. After looking into it, they found that the damage caused around $200 million.

To safeguard users’ assets, Mixin has temporarily stopped all deposit and withdrawal services. They will only start offering these services again once they have thoroughly checked for any vulnerabilities and fixed them.

Users can still transfer their assets on the blockchain as they normally would.

Mixin shared, “After discussion and consensus among all nodes, these services will be reopened once the vulnerabilities are confirmed and fixed. During this time, money transfers are not affected,” adding that founder Feng Xiaodong will explain the hack at a livestream today.
