Since its launch on October 9, Crypto Aid Israel has managed to raise more than $185,000 in donations. They have received support from companies like KPMG, Zengo, Wonderland, and Psagot Equity.
KPMG, in particular, is helping with the fundraising and distribution efforts.
A portion of the funds has already been given to four organizations: Zaka, Foundation for Advancing Citizens of Eshkol Regional Council, Lev Echad by Or Hanegev veHagalil, and Latet to provide various services, including medical equipment, hygiene products, and food supplies.
Some of the money also went towards helping people who live in areas near Gaza but aren’t officially recognized as such by the Israeli government. This assistance ensures that these individuals can find safety and shelter during challenging times.
Crypto Aid Israel was initiated by a group of Israeli blockchain companies, including MarketAcross, CryptoJungle, Blockchain B7, and Fireblocks.
A charity campaign is using a multi-signature wallet to collect donations in the form of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), USDT, and USDC, among others. To access and use these funds, four out of seven authorized individuals need to provide their signatures.
The Hamas and Israel conflict started earlier this month when Hamas began an unexpected attack that resulted in the deaths and kidnappings of Israeli citizens. Israel airstrikes on Gaza following the attack, which led to the loss of over 2,700 Palestinian lives. According to reports from the Associated Press, approximately 1,400 Israeli citizens have lost their lives.
