Trump Acknowledges Ramaswamy's Anti-CBDC Stance

Donald Trump, the former American president, emphasized comments made by Vivek Ramaswamy, the previous Republican presidential candidate, on central bank digital currencies CBDCs. Trump acknowledged Ramaswamy for introducing a digital dollar.

Although he initially refused to recognize Ramaswamy as an adversary, Trump once again demonstrated his strong opposition to the US CBDC.

He claimed that such a digital currency would give the federal government complete control over citizens’ money. This is following his general concerns regarding the overreach of government control.

Trump’s negative position is based on occasional criticisms of Bitcoin during his presidency. Nevertheless, campaigns by Ramaswamy and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently brought discussions about cryptocurrency and CBDCs into the political arena.

The fact that Ramaswamy supported Trump represents unity among the Republicans regarding CBDC threats. Furthermore, US Representative Tom Emmer expressed support for President Trump’s anti-CBDC stance on the 19th of January. Emmer hopes to work with Trump on tackling the government oversight caused by CBDCs.
