At the Gujarat Blockchain Summit 2024, Mr. Amitbhai Thaker, BJP MLA from Vejalpur, talked about India’s significant strides in blockchain technology, emphasising the country’s evolving expertise and its implications for the future.

On March 2, Mr. Amitbhai Thaker, a vocal advocate for technological advancement, highlighted the rapid growth of blockchain technology in India since its inception, expressing gratitude for the widespread adoption and the promising prospects it holds for the nation’s development.

“India is immensely grateful as a large number of people are now engaging with blockchain technology, which was only introduced in 2009. It is set to play a pivotal role in shaping India’s future,” Thaker stated, acknowledging the technology’s impact on the country’s economic and technological landscape.

Mr. Amitbhai Thaker also stressed the importance of developing human infrastructure to leverage blockchain technology effectively, ensuring India’s recognition on the global stage.

Thaker emphasized the Gujarat government’s commitment under the humble guidance of the honorable chief minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Rajnikant Patel to fostering an educational and business ecosystem conducive to innovation, where “ideas can grow”, and “blockchain businesses can thrive”.

The government also took the initiative to support the blockchain sector, providing the necessary backing for sustained growth and development.

Reflecting on his recent visit to a trade fair in Germany, Mr. Amitbhai Thaker highlighted the necessity for sustainable and robust products, asserting that such quality is crucial for maintaining integrity internationally and fulfilling the commitments of Indian businesses to global partners.

He passionately spoke about the blockchain community’s standards, warning new startups about the high expectations and the necessity to maintain high standards of quality and reliability.

“The blockchain community represents prestige and burgeoning business opportunities. New startups joining this sector must understand that their survival depends on their ability to deliver quality and superior products. A failure in this regard means risking exclusion from this esteemed community, which values integrity above all,” Thaker remarked.

Thaker’s speech also touched upon India’s economic ascent, moving from what he termed a ‘3rd class economy’ to being on the verge of becoming the world’s third-largest economy.

He stated that India’s journey would not stop there but would continue towards greater heights, powered by technological innovation and a forward-looking approach.

The Gujarat Blockchain Summit 2024 was an event where India showed its strong support for blockchain technology. People like Amitbhai Thaker led discussions about how technology can help us make progress and improve the future.

The summit was also attended by government representatives, blockchain developers, angel investors, media personnel, and other associated persons.
