Bitget Appoints Hon Ng as Chief Legal Officer

Bitget, a cryptocurrency exchange and Web3 company, has announced the appointment of Hon Ng as its new Chief Legal Officer.

Ng, who started working with Bitget in early April 2024, will be essential in ensuring that the company complies with international legal requirements. His duties will include interacting with authorities throughout the globe and obtaining the required permits to support Bitget’s market expansion initiatives.

Ng was Head of Government Affairs & Policy at Binance and General Counsel before joining Bitget. Ng had a key role in overseeing Binance’s compliance and settlement procedures with international regulators, including US authorities, throughout his time there. In August 2023, his time at Binance came to an end.

Ng held important positions at Uber before joining Binance. He started off as the company’s legal director and eventually rose to become the director of business development. Ng played a significant role in the intricate $2 billion merger between Grab and Uber’s Southeast Asian operations.

Bitget’s CEO, Gracy Chen, emphasized Ng’s extensive experience in digital and Web3-related legal and compliance matters. Chen praised Ng’s proven track record in resolving complex corporate issues and scaling businesses, which made him an ideal candidate for the Chief Legal Officer position at Bitget.
