Peter Todd Denies He is Satoshi Nakamoto as claimed by HBO Documentary

Moments after HBO aired their highly anticipated documentary “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery” and pointed out at developer Peter Todd as a possible face behind Satoshi Nakamoto pseudonym, the fabled creator of Bitcoin, Todd took to ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to debunk HBO’s claims.

In various tweets and replies posted through his official ‘X’ account, Bitcoin Core Developer Todd claimed that he is not Satoshi Nakamoto. HBO had claimed in its documentary that Todd was behind developing the whitepaper of Bitcoin and blockchain technology.

I'm not Satoshi.

Meanwhile, hours before the HBO documentary “Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery” was aired, a clip from the show was allegedly leaked on the internet where the documentary filmmaker Cullen Hoback is heard making claims that Bitcoin core developer Peter Todd is indeed Satoshi.

However, Peter also claimed on ‘X’ that it was likely a journalist who allegedly leaked the clip before the HBO documentary was aired at 9 pm on October 8.

In fairness a bunch of journalists were given screeners to see it before it was published. So _maybe_ one of them leaked some clips. But that is a good way to lose your job…

So good chance Cullen is in fact trying to drum up hype.
