Genius Group Doubles Down on Bitcoin After GENIUS Act Win

Singapore-based AI-driven edtech firm Genius Group has expanded its Bitcoin treasury. The firm recently purchased 20 Bitcoin (BTC) on July 18, 2025, at an average price of $106,812 per coin. This was a 9.5% to 12.9% discount from the market range of $117,000 to $120,600.

This purchase earned them a $216,000 profit, as Bitcoin is now worth $2.35 million. The company is aiming to own 1,000 Bitcoin by the end of 2025 and 10,000 in two years, as they have a strong belief in Bitcoin.

This purchase follows their June acquisition of 34 Bitcoin, which boosted their Bitcoin holdings by 52%. The firm is also excited about the new U.S. law passed on July 18, 2025, the GENIUS Act, which has set rules for stablecoins. This law allows Genius Group to apply for licenses to create their stablecoin and offer digital asset services.

According to the firm’s press release, it aims to turn its Genius Education Merits (GEMs), which are like reward points, into a stablecoin that students and teachers can use on their education platform. This will also make payments easier and faster. Genius Academy’s “Learn and Earn” model allows students to earn rewards while studying.

With the GENIUS Act, the company can now use a digital currency called a stablecoin to pay teachers and partners directly. This cuts costs and speeds up payments.

Genius Group is also creating online courses and certificates that use blockchain technology for security. If they get a special license (DASP), these courses could be officially recognized as digital assets, giving teachers ownership rights. The company also plans to host in-person events like workshops and retreats, where people can use their reward points (GEMs) or stablecoins to pay for things like food and lodging.

The GENIUS Act sets strict rules for stablecoins, such as keeping enough money in reserve and preventing illegal transactions. According to Andrew Keys, CEO of Ether Machine, this law helps Ethereum, a popular blockchain platform, because most digital assets, like stablecoins, are built on it.
