OKX Becomes the Official Sponsor of Tribeca Festival 2022

As it prepares to kick off in New York City on June 8-19, the 2022 Tribeca Festival announces crypto exchange OKX as its official cryptocurrency partner and sponsor.

We’re SO excited to announce our marquee sponsor for the Tribeca Festival…@OKX ! Through this partnership we’re ready to drive new ways of storytelling and continue to support artists! Read all about it https://t.co/U1VTsHmdwf

According to a WSJ report, the partnership between the Tribeca festival and OKX will last for the next three years. This will be OKX’s debut into the entertainment sector.

The Tribeca Festival is a big event that takes place in New York City every spring. It was founded in 2002 by Oscar winner Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff with the goal of boosting NY’s cultural life following the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

OKX will provide year-round support for Tribeca programming in the United States and overseas, according to Jane Rosenthal, the festival’s co-founder and CEO.

The sponsorship will be used to promote OKX’s MetaX wallet, which is now available in the United States.

This year’s Tribeca festival will include a commemorative NFT, with hopes to expand into NFTs in the future.

OKX is also set to assist in teaching filmmakers and fans on how to responsibly use cryptocurrencies and related Web3 technologies.

As the principal sponsor of the Tribeca Film Festival, the platform may be able to fund the development of films designed for the metaverse in the future.

They can also enable creators to raise funds on the blockchain and monetize their work with digital tokens.

OKX CMO Haider Rafique added “We want to provide the tools to creators. Over the years to come, we will lean in, help them create these stories, and partner with hardware providers like Facebook.”

Rosenthal stated “It felt like it was going to be the right fit for two companies that have an intention to drive forward new ways of storytelling and new ways of supporting artists in all different categories.”

The crypto sector’s presence has really been evident in almost every industry including the entertainment sector, and not even the iconic Cannes Film Festival was left out this time. Last month media platform Brut dropped 75 Cannes Film Festival NFTs in partnership with Web3 digital artist Emily Yang.

In the case of OKX, the firm negotiated the Tribeca sponsorship to develop a long-term partnership with a reputable brand, according to CMO Rafique.

He explained that the goal is to build customer trust in the OKX brand and to assuage any concerns that Western consumers may have about OKX’s Chinese roots or newbie status in the sector.

Despite the current volatility in the global cryptocurrency market, OKX recently acquired multi-year sponsorship deals with Manchester City Football Club and F1’s McLaren Racing.
