Kyle Roche Moves to Withdraw Lawsuits after Crypto Leaks Scandal

Some events took place after the “whistleblower” website Crypto Leaks published information indicating that the law firm Roche Freedman filed class-action suits against companies that compete with Ava Labs directly or indirectly. Kyle Roche, the firm’s founding partner, is now moving to withdraw from many of the cases.

According to its LinkedIn profile, Roche Freedman is an innovative, tech-savvy counsel who can assist in the resolution of high-stakes business disputes.

Kyle Roche withdrew as counsel for proposed class actions against Tether, Bitfinex, the Tron Foundation, and HDR Global Trading (which operates as BitMEX).

According to the filings, Roche is leaving his firm’s class action practice. The Southern District of New York motion states that Roche is “no longer involved” in the firm’s class action practice.

More than a dozen proposed class actions have been filed by the firm against crypto exchanges and issuers. While Roche has withdrawn from representing the plaintiffs, his firm is still representing the proposed classes.

A brief recap of “Avalanche of Trouble” — Ava Labs CEO Emin Gün Sirer and Roche vehemently denied Crypto Leaks’ allegations that the lawyer and Ava Labs were involved in a “secret pact” to undermine the latter’s blockchain rivals like Solana through U.S. court actions.

There was video evidence that Roche claimed he reached an agreement with Ava Labs and was the first recipient of Ava Labs stock after Andreessen Horowitz. However, he denied the asserts, claiming that the recordings were “illegally obtained, highly edited video clips.”
